About Me – Athreya Ramanan

I am Athreya Ramanan, a professional racing driver from Sammamish, WA, currently a Junior at Purdue University pursuing a degree in Integrated Business and Engineering. I lead and drive for Excalibur Racing and serve as the Team Lead for IBE’s EV Kart Team. My racing journey has been defined by speed, consistency, and a relentless pursuit of excellence on and off the track.

My career began with a breakthrough in the 4-stroke Pro-Am Championship at Pacific Raceways, where I competed against seasoned drivers. In my debut racing championship, I demonstrated natural speed and a steep learning curve, consistently performing at the front of the field. This culminated in securing the Championship Title, marking an impressive start to my motorsport journey.

Building on my initial success, I transitioned to 2-stroke, 70 mph TAG karts, competing at both regional and national levels. I achieved numerous race victories and podium finishes, consistently outracing competitors with greater experience and established pedigrees.

In 2021, I made a pivotal transition from high-performance karts to single-seater race cars, joining Doran Motorsports Group in the US Formula Pro Western Championship. Competing in the Formula 4 category, I showcased my adaptability and racecraft by securing 9 podium finishes in 12 races, including a victory at the iconic Sonoma Raceway. This consistent performance earned me the title of Vice-Champion for 2021.

Continuing my progression in open-wheel racing, I competed in the Formula Regionals Americas Championship in 2022, piloting the Doran Motorsports Group F3 car. I am currently competing in endurance races across the country in the Sebeco NPO1, achieving success at premier circuits like Thunderhill Raceway and Virginia International Raceway.

I am deeply committed to my racing career and to the continued success of my partners and sponsors. My ambition is clear – to reach the highest levels of Formula racing, leveraging my dedication, skill, and strategic approach to competition.
