MY JOURNEY IN MOTORSPORTS
BIO
My name is Athreya Ramanan. I’m an 18-year-old professional racing driver from the Seattle area in Sammamish, WA. I’m a Sophomore at Purdue University pursuing Integrated Business and Engineering, and the Business Lead and Driver for Purdue Formula SAE.
My racing career has been a showcase of speed and consistency, both on and off the track. My success story began with the 4-stroke Pro-Am Championship at Pacific Raceways, racing karts against experienced drivers. In the first official racing championship I had ever contested, I showcased my natural speed and ability to learn. I drove to victory in race after race, finishing first in the championship.
I then made the leap to racing 2-stroke, 70 mph TAG karts in and outside Washington. I secured numerous race wins and podiums, outracing competitors with years greater experience and pedigree.
In 2021, I made the most significant transition in my career, moving from high-power karts to racing cars. I raced a Formula 4 car for Doran Motorsports Group in the US Formula Pro Western Championship. I finished on the podium in 9 of 12 races, including a race win at the world-famous Sonoma Raceway, and was crowned vice-champion for 2021.
For the 2022 season, I was racing the Doran Motorsports Group F3 car, competing in the Formula Regionals Americas Championship.
Currently, I am competing in endurance races across the country in the Sebeco NPO1, with success at Thunderhill Raceway and Virginia International Raceway.
I am highly motivated and committed to my racing career, and to my sponsors. My goal is to reach the top echelons of motorsport in Formula racing.
